This is a To-Do list for each PI/institution. This is not a proposal outline. See the other documents on that. IU will collect material and post for all. 1. Please send to IU (cc Therese Miller) the contact person at your institution who is responsible for fastlane submisssions, budgets, etc. - We will make sure collaborative proposals are set up correctly. 2. Please send a list of people you are contacting who are providing letters of support. 3. Request your letters. Each "major" letter of support should specify the following: - The supporter's qualifications (standard NSF 2 page CV) - Specific support that is either EXPECTED OR PROVIDED. - That is, "we will provide Code X and expertise" or "we will provide 128 node cluster" and so on. - These will correspond to tables in the actual proposal. 4. Please send to IU your INTERNATIONAL AWARENESS PLAN (~1 page). This should address the following: - Master inspirational sentence on how you specifically will increase IA as part of the iSERVO proposal; ie what will your role be in the bigger picture. - How will you work with international partners? I.e., will go to Japan to help them develop VirtualJapan - How will you involve students and Junior Researchers in international collabs? Note Louise pointed out UC system has this infrastructure for exchanges. - Note these should be linked to your Facilities and Budget documents. - We will also summarize this in the proposal. 5.Please send to IU a FACILITIES STATEMENT: Note each institution MUST upload this to Fastlane separately. We want to collect these however so that we can write specific sections of the proposal that are reflected in the institutional facility statement. -This must reflect the institution's specific contributions (like computing clusters, web servers, and other stuff). 6.Please send to IU your BUDGET JUSTIFICATION. Each institution must submit this separately, but we need this information to write specific sections of the proposal. This is also a sneaky way of adding additional material to the proposal. -This must reflect your contributions: intellectual manpower, maintenance of hardware and software resources, your internationalization plane, and your required travel. - You should budget at least 2 US trips per year for iSERVO all hands meetings and 1 international trip every two years (minimal) per institution. 7. Revamp your CV. PI/Co-I CVs MUST reflect the specific proposal. If we have time, we will provide a template for common look. 8. Send to IU your institution's collective PRIOR RESULTS section. This should be 1 page max per institution to start, but we will have to cut down. We want to make this work for us, so concentrate on relevant research.
