The First Code Improvement Milestone run was as follows: It had 5000 time steps and 150000 elements. It was run using 256 processors of the SGI, chapman, at NASA Ames and finished on Fri Aug 15, 2003 at 04:31:21. It was run as a special batch job in order to have enough wall clock time to complete. It was run by Nick Beeler in the /u/nbeeler directory on chapman. It was run using the pbs-script-chapman.150003 script file in the /u/tullis/1st_Code_Improv_Milestone/in directory of turing, chapman, and this website. (Note: some of the directory and filenames have been changed since the run was done in order to conform with the naming conventions established during the Baseline Milestone run.) The run included preceding the executable name with the command time in order to report the time of execution. The PARK programs and the Fast Multiple library were compiled with -O3 as the Makefile in the BaselineMilestone/src-bin directory shows for the PARK earthquake model and the BaselineMilestone/t17-7/Make-common/Make.IRIX64 file shows for the Fast Multipole library.
